Job summary

MAXHUNT RESOURCE PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a Pastoral Care professional for the current term at Boon Lay Garden Primary School. The role involves befriending and mentoring Higher Needs Students, guiding them and supporting their well-being, with mentoring and engagement activities designed for primary school-aged children.

The schedule includes school hours: Mon-Wed 7:30am–5:00pm (lunch 12:00–1:00), Thu-Fri 7:30am–12:00pm. Prior experience and strong communication are valued for success.

Qualifications

• At least two years of relevant experience in counselling, pastoral care, youth work, student support or working with families with primary school-aged children and youth.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience planning or conducting mentoring, educational or student-engagement activities for primary school-aged children is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Befriend and mentor Higher Needs Students, providing guidance, encouragement and individual support.
• Conduct targeted engagement and informal conversations to build resilience, a growth mindset and positive attitudes towards school and learning.
• Lead simple, age-appropriate exercises and light physical activities to support physical and mental well-being.
• Co-create practical resources for the in-house Lifeskills Programme, including flashcards, activity kits, crafts, visual aids and gamified or financial-literacy resources.
• Accompany teachers on after-school learning journeys and supervise and engage students; bus bookings and procurement are excluded from this role.
• Support students during homework-care sessions and report participation or completion concerns to designated staff.
• Conduct school-directed home visits in coordination with the Student Welfare Officer to engage families and understand student support needs.

Contract Period: 1 March 2027 to 31December 2027.

Option period: 1 January 2028 to 31December 2028.

Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:

• Mondays to Wednesdays: 7:30am to 5:00pm, with lunch from 12:00pm to 1:00pm.
• Thursdays and Fridays: 7:30am to 12:00pm.
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays and school holidays, unless directed by the school and mutually agreed.
