Job summary

Pioneer Primary School in Singapore is seeking a dedicated Student Development Officer to support the Student Development Team in addressing misconduct, supervise pupils, and promote positive behavior.

The role involves home visits with senior staff, delivering social-emotional activities, and assisting with after-school enrichment for pupils with high support needs. Candidates with relevant diploma or higher and at least three years' experience working with children are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least three years working directly with children in educational, community or related settings.
• Diploma or higher qualification in Child Psychology, Education, Early Childhood Education, Developmental Psychology or equivalent.
• Ability to engage Primary 1–3 pupils and build trust.

Responsibilities

• Help the Student Development Team establish facts in misconduct and bullying cases; compile and share records of late arrivals and serious offences.
• Supervise pupils during No-Play Time, in-house suspension and classroom time-outs; use restorative conversations to help pupils understand what happened and return to learning.
• Support pupils with behavioural needs in class; mentor identified pupils and patrol assigned areas to support attendance, safety and engagement.
• Accompany the Head of Student Management or Year Heads on home visits.
• Deliver targeted social-emotional and executive functioning activities during FTGP and CCE periods.
• Assist teachers with after-school enrichment for pupils with high support needs and provide additional student management support in class.

Contract Period: 4 January to 12 November 2027.

Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:00am to 5:30pm. Thursday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Each shift includes a one-hour lunch break.
• Weekends and gazetted public holidays are off.

Requirements:

• At least three years working directly with children in educational, community or correctional settings is preferred.
• A diploma or higher qualification in Child Psychology, Education, Early Childhood Education, Developmental Psychology or an equivalent field is preferred.
• Ability to engage Primary 1 to 3 pupils, build trust and encourage their development.
