Contract Period: 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027 (12 months), with an option to extend for one year in 2028.
Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:
- * Mondays to Fridays: 7:30am to 5:00pm, inclusive of a 60-minute lunch break.
- * Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays.
- * Working hours and services may be adjusted according to the school's needs.
Requirements:
- * At least a GCE O-Level certificate OR a minimum of two years of experience working in a primary school laboratory.
- * A good understanding of laboratory safety is essential. Having studied Science at school or a recognised educational institution is preferred.
- * Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with adults and children.
- * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint for records and bookkeeping.
- * Practical skills to perform simple repairs to Science learning materials, including electrical circuit components and customised activity kits.
- * Practical knowledge and skills in growing and maintaining plants.
Job Scopes:
The Services required are set out as follows:
- 1. Provide logistical and technical support for Science teachers by preparing and maintaining materials and apparatus for practical lessons.
- 2. Maintain outdoor green learning spaces through weeding, pruning, fruit protection, harvesting, propagation and plant replacement; maintain related equipment, including Vegepods and self-watering timers.
- 3. Maintain laboratory housekeeping, safety equipment and fittings, and follow laboratory safety rules and risk-assessment guidelines.
- 4. Assist the HOD (Science) with resource collation, stock checks, orders, deliveries, invoices and departmental financial records.
- 5. Perform other duties assigned by School Leaders, the HOD (Science) and designated school staff.
