Job summary

Nimbus Group AB (publ) is seeking a talented Yacht Designer/Engineer to strengthen our Design team at the Gothenburg HQ and contribute to the next generation of Nimbus Boats.

You will deliver mechanical designs with production-ready details, collaborating with the Chief Designer, sourcing, and suppliers. You should have a proactive mindset, strong communication, and a passion for boating.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in mechanical design for yacht projects.
• Strong command of English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models for engineering and production.
• Ensure 3D designs embed production considerations and 2D drawings.
• Collaborate with Chief Designer, sourcing, production and suppliers.
• Deliver design packages on time and within budget.
• Integrate interior and systems where space is tight.
• Support CE-marking and prototype validation at production sites.

Overview

Yacht Designer: We are looking for a talented and experienced Yac h Engineer or a Mechanical Engineer who can strengthen our Design team in Gothenburg HQ and be part of the development of the next generation of Nimbus Boats. We offer a creative working environment, where you will work with all aspects of Yacht development for a world renowned Boat brand. We have big plans for the coming years and we need more talent to help us on this exciting journey.

Responsibilities

Your overall priority will be to successfully deliver mechanical design, ensuring that production aspects are embedded in 3D design and 2D drawings. You will be responsible for executing specified work packages on time and at cost with accountability to the quality and integrity of the designs. As a member of the Design team you will be working in close cooperation with the Chief Designer, sourcing, production and suppliers. You will report to the group CTO.

• Development of 3D CAD models for engineering and production


• Implementation of relevant design and production knowledge into CAD by defining master models and design guidelines.


• Integration of Interior and Systems in tight spaces


• CE-marking


• Participation in functional model and prototype assembly, test and validation at production sites.


• Delivery of designs as per project plan in time, on cost and quality

Qualifications

As a person, you are a great team player with good communication skills, used to work in an international environment. You have a proactive approach and take pride in following up your own work, and see your products become reality. You are well structured, ambitious and quality-conscious. You plan your work well and stay positive even when facing hectic and challenging times.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval architecture or equal.


• Highly skilled in use of 3D CAD software (Solid Works and Rhino is used at Nimbus)


• 5+ years of design engineering experience with relevant industry knowledge


• Strong theoretical skills coupled with hands-on approach


• Superior understanding of technical specifications


• Fluent in English (written and spoken)


• Experienced boater with a passion for the sea
