Junior YACHT DESIGN ENGINEER

We are looking for a talented and experienced mechanical or yacht engineer, who can strengthen our Design team in Gothenburg and be part of the development of the next generation of Nimbus Boats. We offer a creative working environment, where you will work with all aspects of Yacht development for a world renowned Boat brand. We have big plans for the coming years and we need more talent to help us on this exciting journey.

Responsibilities

Your main task is to deliver good mechanical designs, making sure production aspects are included in 3D models and 2D drawings. You will work on assigned tasks and ensure that the designs meet the required functionality, look and quality. As part of the project design team, you will work closely with the lead design engineer and support the project.

Your main tasks will include:

• 3D CAD modelling and 2D drawings
• Issue new revisions of technical drawings and coordination with suppliers and production
• Integration of Interior and Systems in 3D master model
• Drawings for CE-marking
• Participation in prototype assembly, test and validation

Qualifications

You are a strong team player with good communication skills and feel comfortable working in an international environment. You have a proactive approach and take pride in following up on your own work and seeing your designs become reality. You are well-structured, ambitious, and quality-conscious. You also have good planning skills and can maintain a positive attitude even when facing challenges.

Furthermore, our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

• Education in Mechanical Engineering or equal
• Skilled in use of 3D CAD software (Solid Works and Rhino is used at Nimbus)
• 1 year of 3D modelling experience in relevant industry
• Theoretical skills coupled with hands‑on approach
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Experienced boater with a passion for the sea

Knowledge in one or more of the following is an advantage:

• Thermoplastic or GRP moulded plastic
• Wooden interior design
• Welded and sheet metal structures
