Job summary

Tata Technologies in Sweden is seeking a Wiring Harness Design Engineer to lead and deliver harness activities within a multidisciplinary team on early test vehicles.

You will design virtual harness models, create 3D PMI drawings, and ensure manufacturability and supplier readiness according to project standards.

• Ensure 3D models and PMI docs are ready for supplier manufacturing.

Job description

Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Wiring Harness Design - Engineering Operation to strengthen our team in Sweden.

The Role

The Certification and Verification department requires support within Wiring Harness Design to produce 3D drawings and CAD data for complete vehicles in early test objects within new projects.

Your main responsibility will be to lead and deliver Wiring Harness Design activities within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

The role involves mechanically routing and physically connecting electrical components through wiring bundles while fulfilling requirements, guidelines, and quality standards. You will ensure that the product can be manufactured efficiently by suppliers and assembled smoothly in vehicle production environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of virtual harness models.
• Creation of corresponding 3D models and 3D PMI drawings for specification purposes.
• Continuous optimization of harness design to balance cost, weight, performance, quality, and environmental considerations.
• Development of complete 3D wiring harness models, including routing, lengths, and mounting features adapted to specific test objects.
• Working with TCE, 3DPMI, CATIA V5, CADBOM, and TCPLM, while supporting Engineering Operations with roadmaps and related activities.
• Maintaining CAD maturity and drawing quality according to reference projects.
• Performing continuous internal reviews of CAD model feasibility and maturity.
• Ensuring that 3D models and associated 3D PMI documentation are sufficiently mature for supplier manufacturing and the production of early test objects.
