Job summary

Next Ventures in Stockholm is looking for a hands-on Senior VMware Engineer to operate, maintain, and develop a large-scale VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environment in our private cloud.

You will work across the VMware stack—vSphere, NSX, vSAN—plus automation and Kubernetes, collaborating with infrastructure, networking, and security teams to improve reliability, scalability, and platform delivery across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
• Strong knowledge and practical experience with vSphere and NSX.
• Proven experience operating and managing enterprise VMware environments at scale.
• Thorough understanding of traditional networking concepts, including VLANs, routing, switching, DNS, IP networking.
• Strong understanding of VMware Aria Automation (vRA) and VMware Aria Orchestrator (vRO).
• Experience developing and maintaining automation workflows and working with container platforms in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and develop a large-scale VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environment.
• Work hands-on with: VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, NSX, vSAN, VCF Operations.
• Troubleshoot complex VMware, Kubernetes, networking, and infrastructure issues.
• Perform VCF lifecycle management, upgrades, and patching.
• Work with NSX networking, routing, and security.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and networking teams on platform integrations.
• Support integrations with enterprise infrastructure and services.
• Contribute to technical standards, documentation, and operational processes.
• Continuously improve the reliability, automation, scalability, and capabilities of the Private Cloud platform.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior VMware Engineer to join our team in Stockholm. You will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and developing a large-scale VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environment.

The role is highly hands-on and requires strong expertise across VMware infrastructure, networking, automation, and Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and develop a large-scale VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environment.
• Work hands-on with:
• VMware vSphere
• ESXi

Required Experience

VMware Cloud Foundation

Networking – Critical Requirement

Thorough understanding of traditional networking concepts, including:

• VLANs
• Routing
• Switching
• DNS
• IP networking

Automation

• Strong understanding of VMware Aria Automation (vRA).
• Strong experience with VMware Aria Orchestrator (vRO) and workflow development.
• Experience developing and maintaining automation workflows.
• Hands-on experience with VKS / VMware Tanzu Kubernetes.
• Experience working with container platforms in enterprise environments.

Lifecycle & Operations

• Experience with VMware patching, upgrades, lifecycle management, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Experience managing large-scale VMware infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of structured ITIL, incident management, and change management processes.

Communication

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Ability to work effectively with infrastructure, networking, security, and other technical teams.

Candidate Profile
