Job summary

Functional Software Stockholm AB is seeking a Platform Engineer to own a scalable, secure platform and work closely with product, design, and engineering to shape technology and product direction.

You will influence early-stage development, improve developer experience, and set high standards for code quality, monitoring, and security while working in our centrally located Stockholm office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend or full-stack experience.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript.
• Good understanding of Node.js and its concurrency model.
• Experience designing scalable systems.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Strong programming fundamentals with maintainable, high-quality code.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Must be in office five days a week.

About The Role This is an opportunity to join a small, fast-growing Stockholm-based startup building a creative product with AI at its core. As a Platform Engineer, you’ll take ownership of a scalable, secure, and high-performance platform, working closely with product, design, and engineering to shape both the technology and the product direction.

You’ll have broad influence early on: improving the developer experience, shipping end-user features quickly, reducing technical debt, and setting high standards for code quality, monitoring, and security. The role suits someone who enjoys autonomy, fast iteration, and helping define how engineering is done in an early-stage company.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a backend or full-stack engineer
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript
• Good understanding of Node.js and its concurrency model
• Experience designing scalable systems
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools
• Strong programming fundamentals with a focus on maintainable, high-quality code
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
