Job summary

Orange Business Services is seeking a System Consultant for the Virtualization team to operate, maintain, and develop our virtualization infrastructure (ESXi, vSAN, NSX-T, vCloud Director, VCF 9.X, Tanzu). You will work closely with Storage to deliver reliable platforms in a hybrid Stockholm/Oslo setup.

The role emphasizes proactive monitoring, incident handling, and continuous improvement, with opportunities to participate in customer-driven projects and technology evaluations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on knowledge of VMware virtualization at both operational and development levels (vSphere, vSAN).
• Experience with cloud technologies like vCloud Director and/or VCF 9.X.
• Familiar with administration tools such as vRealize Log Insight and Operations Manager.
• Strong troubleshooting for performance and stability issues.
• Basic Windows/Linux knowledge (Red Hat or similar).
• Experience with scripting, automation and IaC is a plus.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Orange Business is looking for a System Consultant to join our Virtualization team within the department Compute & Storage! The virtualization team is responsible for operating, maintaining and developing our virtualization infrastructure,mainly based on VMware technologies. Both shared and customer owned platforms are a part of this responsibility.

The Virtualization teamworks closely together in a team effort with Storage to fulfill our responsibilities. The Team also works in close corporation with the Storage Team. We are per today 10 employees in Norway and Sweden. We have the main responsibility for our Virtualization Infrastructure, both Shared platform and Dedicated platforms. As a Systems Consultant in the Virtualization department, you will participate in the day-to-dayoperation of our virtualization infrastructure and participate in internal and customer driven projects. You will handle the monitoring, maintenance, optimization and troubleshooting of the infrastructure. You will get to work with technologies like ESXi,vSAN,NSX-T,vCloud Director, VCF 9.X and Tanzu. The position also gives opportunity to be part of evaluating new technologies, and improvement/developing of already existing systems. There will also be the opportunity to work as a project participant. There are projects from time to time which we in Compute will have to be a part of.

Your key areas of responsibility as a Systems Consultant - Virtualization:

• Incident handling
• Troubleshooting
• Performance tuning/ stability issues
• Patching and upgrading
• Capacity management
• General development and improvement of the platforms
• Implementing Projects (Internal and Customer driven)
• Documentation
• Maintaining all our systems.

As an ideal candidate you have:

• Knowledge in VMware systems on an operational and development level (vSphere, vSAN)
• Experience with cloud technologies like VMware vCloud Director and/or VCF 9.X
• Working with administration tools like vRealize LogInsight, Operations Manager etc
• Skills to do troubleshooting performance and/or stability issues
• Basic knowledge in at least one of the following OS: Windows; Linux: Redhat, or other distribution
• Experience with scripting, automation and working with IAC is a plus
• A strong team orientation and enjoyment of collaborative work.
