Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to work with process machinery, pressure vessels and other industrial equipment. The role combines analytical and code-based design calculations with finite element analysis in ANSYS.

Qualifications

• You hold a Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
• You have at least three years of industrial experience in structural analysis.
• You are proficient in a major FEA package (e.g. ANSYS, Abaqus or Nastran).
• You have experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Inventor or Creo.
• You speak Swedish and English fluently for technical documentation and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Perform static, dynamic, fatigue and fracture mechanics analyses using ANSYS.
• Develop and validate FE models for machines and equipment; document conclusions and recommendations.
• Work with design engineers to dimension and improve components and structures considering strength, manufacturability, reliability and cost.
• Carry out analytical and code-based design calculations for pressure vessels and other structures; check FE results.
• Support material selection, improve analysis methods and investigate structural problems.
• When needed, perform measurements and field studies to support R&D or failure analysis.
