Job summary

Valmet Aktiebolag is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to work with process machinery, pressure vessels and other industrial equipment, performing static, dynamic, fatigue and fracture analyses using ANSYS and validating FE models.

You will collaborate with design engineers to dimension components, support multiple business units with structural analysis expertise, and contribute to product development and design verification across the Swedish sites (Gothenburg, Karlstad, Sundsvall).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years industrial experience in structural analysis, preferably with heavy machinery or energy apps.
• Proficient in major FEA tools and solid mechanics fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Perform static, dynamic, fatigue and fracture analyses using ANSYS.
• Develop and validate FE models for machines and equipment, evaluate results and document conclusions.
• Collaborate with design engineers to dimension components considering strength and cost.
• Carry out design calculations for pressure vessels per applicable standards and check FE results.
• Support material selection, improve analysis methods and investigate structural problems.
• Occasionally perform measurements and field studies to support R&D or failure analysis.
