Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to work with process machinery, pressure vessels and other industrial equipment. The role combines analytical and code-based design calculations with finite element analysis in ANSYS.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least three years of industrial experience in structural analysis, ideally involving heavy machinery, pulp and paper or energy applications.
• Proficient in a major FEA platform such as ANSYS, Abaqus or Nastran.
• Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Inventor or Creo.
• Good spoken and written Swedish and English for collaboration and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform static, dynamic, fatigue and fracture mechanics analyses using ANSYS.
• Develop and validate FE models for our machines and other equipment, evaluate the results and document conclusions and recommendations.
• Work with design engineers to dimension and improve components and structures, considering strength, manufacturability, reliability and cost.
• Carry out analytical and code-based design calculations for pressure vessels and other structures in accordance with applicable standards. Check FE results using analytical methods and participate in design reviews.
• Support material selection, improve analysis methods and investigate structural problems and their causes.
• When needed, perform measurements and field studies on our machines and equipment to support R&D or failure analysis and resolve technical problems.
