Job summary

Läkare Utan Gränser is offering a six-month, full-time Portfolio and Project Capability Lead role, starting December 2026 or as soon as possible. The position focuses on establishing pragmatic portfolio and project-management practices to deliver MSF's multi-year strategic plan (MYSP) and build lasting organisational capability.

The role requires experience in strategic portfolio management, programme management, MoP/PRINCE2 knowledge, and strong English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Relevant higher education or equivalent combination of education and significant professional experience.
• Practical experience in strategic portfolio management, strategy execution, or programme management.
• Knowledge of financial planning and its connection to prioritisation and resource allocation.
• Experience establishing or improving project, portfolio, planning or organisational performance-management practices.
• Knowledge of MSF structures and ways of working is advantageous.
• Proficiency in English at CEFR C1 level.

Responsibilities

• Establish pragmatic portfolio and project-management practices to implement the MYSP and strategic initiatives.
• Develop a common strategic portfolio showing priorities, ownership, resources, dependencies, risks and benefits.
• Create a MYSP implementation roadmap with priorities, timelines and key dependencies.
• Provide practical project and programme-management frameworks and tools for planning, delivery, evaluation and governance.
• Set up clear reporting and indicators to monitor MYSP progress and impact.
• Align portfolio and roadmap governance with financial planning and budgeting processes.
• Build organisational capability through training, coaching and support to sustain these approaches after the assignment ends.
