Qualifications

  • Experience in programme management and donor reporting coordination.
  • Experience with EU, Sida, UN donor requirements and audits.
  • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information.
  • Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft applications and collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

  • Create, oversee and monitor compliance plans for the Sweden International Program.
  • Monitor, analyse and report donor compliance within awards.
  • Provide training on operationalising compliance plans and responding to queries.
  • Track and log compliance findings, incidents and audit outcomes.
  • Coordinate with country offices, SCI Global and external partners to ensure alignment with plans.
  • Support portfolio management with project and award oversight and quality control.

The Portfolio/Compliance Manager plays a central role as one of the Portfolio Manager functions within the Save the Children Sweden International Program.

The Portfolio/Compliance Manager is responsible for the creation, oversight and monitoring of systematic compliance plans within the Sweden International Program. They will work to ensure Save the Children Sweden complies with its legal and regulatory requirements, by monitoring, analysing and reporting on donor compliance within awards. They will assist with training on the operationalisation of plans, responding to queries, tracking and logging compliance and audit findings, and incidents, and monitoring compliance with key controls.

The Portfolio/Compliance Manager is also responsible for an agreed level of support to portfolio management within the International Program. This includes oversight of projects and awards ensuring quality and donor compliance, acting as a processes driver and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders such as country offices and other member offices to ensure alignment with country strategic plans and SC Sweden's operational plans.

ARE YOU OUR NEW COLLEAGUE?
  • Academic degree or equivalent experience in relevant area
  • Several years previous experience in a similar role with strong understanding of compliance requirements for institutional donors, eg Sida, ECHO, INTPA, World Bank, UNOCHA
  • Demonstrated experience in programme management in the international development and/or humanitarian sector, including proposal and reporting coordination as well as financial monitoring including budget development and management.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing programs funded by and understanding of donor requirements including EU, Sida, UN agencies.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and responding to audit processes
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information, form a conclusion and communicate findings effectively.
  • Ability to deliver accurate results on time in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to interact positively and communicate with all levels of staff at SC Sweden, SCI Global and SCI CO and external partners.
  • Effective time management, multi-tasking and coordination and leadership skills to meet tight deadlines as well as the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Highly developed project management and coordination skills and expertise
  • Excellent administrative skills (and project/process management skills)
  • Advanced computer skills, in Microsoft applications (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Lists and Copilot), SharePoint, and Agresso
  • Advanced English communication skills written and verbal

Language skills in Arabic, French, Spanish or Swedish is also an asset
