Job summary

SSAB is seeking an experienced Business Innovation Manager to shape SSAB Europe’s growth portfolio by translating market, technology, customer, regulatory and transformation insights into strategically prioritized opportunities.

You will own the portfolio, develop techno-commercial business cases and provide clear recommendations on which opportunities to pursue, while collaborating with Sales, Product Lines, Technical Development, R&D and production.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in steel, metals, manufacturing or B2B.
• Strong techno-commercial capability linking material, product, process to market value.
• Experience in business development, segment or application development, product management, sales or strategy.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to explain complex topics to management & sales.
• Fluent written and spoken English; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage SSAB Europe’s growth portfolio across segments and horizons.
• Identify, assess and shape growth opportunities using market foresight, customer needs, regulation and technology trends.
• Lead techno-commercial business cases covering fit, market attractiveness, value and feasibility.
• Define customer problems, differentiated value propositions, and validation plans with cross-functional teams.
• Own the portfolio maturation gates with validation criteria and decision points.
• Coordinate development work with Sales, Product Lines, Technical Development and other stakeholders.
• Be part of the commercial transformation steering group to own future growth opportunities.
• Support market intelligence projects and SSAB Zero initiatives when needed.
