Job summary

Grafana Labs in Sweden is seeking a Staff Technical Writer to create documentation and learning content for Grafana’s observability products. You’ll work with engineers, PMs, and the writing team to produce content for a range of products and audiences, adapting to evolving priorities.

You will leverage AI-assisted workflows throughout the content lifecycle, from research to maintenance, ensuring accuracy while collaborating with a distributed team in a remote setup.

Qualifications

• Experience writing or documenting enterprise or developer-facing software, with a portfolio or writing samples that show technical depth.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools and models in your writing workflow (such as LLM assistants, agentic coding tools, or custom prompts and skills).
• Experience working with docs-as-code: command-line Git, GitHub (pull requests and reviews), Markdown, and common IDEs.
• Comfort working in technical environments. You can set up, run, and troubleshoot software yourself to verify what you write (e.g., command line, containers, or Kubernetes).
• Experience collaborating with engineers and product managers to get accurate technical information.
• Experience working remotely and asynchronously on a distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, research, write, and maintain documentation and learning content that supports adoption and long-term product mastery.
• Use AI tools and workflows to work faster and at a higher quality; apply human judgment to AI outputs and ensure accuracy.
• Contribute to the team’s AI workflows and improve content creation and maintenance processes as tools evolve.
• Partner with engineers, PMs, and stakeholders to understand product requirements and translate complex technical detail into clear content.
• Test documented procedures by running software and flag UX or product gaps found along the way.
• Use analytics and user feedback to identify content gaps, prioritize work, and show impact of what you ship.
• Collaborate to improve information architecture, voice, and consistency across docs for both readers and AI-driven search.
• Manage multiple projects and communicate clearly when plans change.
• Mentor teammates and share practices to raise team quality.
