Job summary

SEB is seeking a Solution Architect to strengthen its FX capabilities. You will shape the architectural agenda for FX, with a strong focus on Cloud, AI/Data, API and Security, and guide roadmaps toward the target architecture.

The role combines hands-on technical depth with leadership and collaboration across Trading Technology and Trading Services teams. We value a proactive mindset, experience with modernization journeys, and the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable

Qualifications

• Strong developer background with experience in designing and building system.
• Experience in designing architectures that integrate diverse technologies and platforms.
• Proven ability to drive and contribute to large-scale technology transformations, both modernization of existing platforms and full-scale system replacements.
• Broad interest in various architecture domains, including business, application, information, and technology.
• Experience with APIs, modular architecture, test-driven development, and data-centric designs.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence, engage, and guide both business, IT stakeholders and tech leads.
• Experience in regulations and directives relevant to financial markets.
• A proactive and strategic mindset, with the ability to translate vision into actionable roadmaps.
• Experience in cyber security and security architecture is merited.
• Experience from the financial industry, particularly capital markets, is a strong plus. If not, a strong interest in learning about financial instruments is expected.
• Experience using LLMs as part of your development workflow, either professionally or through personal projects.

About the role:

As a Solution Architect within Trading, you will be part of a team accountable for driving the architectural agenda for FX. Your responsibility will be to evolve the architecture in line with the business objectives for FX, with a strong focus on Cloud, AI/Data, API and Security. You will help shape the strategic agenda for the application portfolio, design solutions, provide solution alternatives, and detail roadmaps towards the target architecture.

We are looking for a Solution Architect with a solid developer background, who can combine hands-on technical depth with leadership abilities and strong collaboration skills. You are expected to have been part of technology transformation journeys, including modernizing existing IT landscapes as well as major system replacements.

The architecture team within Trading consists of Solution Architects led by a Domain Architect. Together we combine deep technical skills with strong business knowledge. We believe in teamwork, learning from each other, and building solutions together.

You will also be part of the FX Tribe, which includes teams from Trading Technology and Trading Services, all working closely together to support the FX business.

While technical skills and experience are important, we believe that motivation, curiosity, and the ability to learn are equally critical for success in this role. To be successful in this role, we believe you have:

Our selection process includes a programming test, a final architecture case interview, and HR assessments. The final stage is a case interview based on a realistic technology modernization scenario. No prior preparation is required.
