Westermo is seeking a Software Test Developer to join our Linux-based WeOS team in Västerås. You will help ensure quality by writing automated tests, maintaining testing tools, and contributing to cybersecurity and performance testing.

Ideal candidates have experience with C/C++, Python, or Java, and from a Linux environment. Fluency in Swedish and English is required, and you will collaborate in an Agile, team‑oriented atmosphere. You'll learn and grow with us.

Are you passionate about Linux and believe that testing is the key to quality? If so, we want you to join our team as a Software Test Developer at Westermo!

At Westermo, we develop software for our own hardware, running on a Linux-based operating system called WeOS. We integrate a variety of Open Source packages along with a significant amount of software developed from scratch. Our Software Test Team is now looking for a new colleague!

Are you our new Software Test Developer?

Do you love taking projects from start to finish? If so, you'll fit right in with our Agile team! As a Software Test Developer at Westermo, a large part of your time will be spent maintaining our testing tools and developing tests for our Linux-based operating system, WeOS, and yes, plenty of Python along the way. Your journey will include everything from requirement analysis and design to coding, integration, quality assurance, and troubleshooting.

But that's not all! Because we work closely with the other development teams, you'll also get to step outside pure testing such as helping evaluate test scopes for new features, digging into tricky problems alongside the WeOS developers, and exploring new ideas together. With your team by your side, help and support are always just a step away!

What You'll Be Doing?

• Reviewing requirements and writing automated tests for regression testing.
• Reviewing and approving requirements and tests written by WeOS developers.
• Performing various forms of manual testing.
• Maintaining our testing tools and supporting infrastructure, focusing on cybersecurity, performance, and robustness.

Our Software Test department is made up of two teams: Test Developers (the role described above) and Test Framework Developers, whose main responsibility is the ability to schedule and run tests, process the test results, and maintain the test systems. We promote close collaboration between the two teams, which means your work won't necessarily stay limited to the Test Developers' responsibilities — there's plenty of room to explore and contribute across both.

Requirements

• Professional experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java.

• Knowledge in Networking Technologies such as switching, routing and security protocols.
