Job summary

Inter IKEA Group in Malmö is seeking a Software Engineering Leader to align engineering work across teams within the Range Core area and to drive consistency, scalability and quality in our software products.

This role combines hands-on software engineering leadership with architectural governance, reporting to the Software Engineering Area Manager. We value experience shaping technical visions, driving roadmaps and collaborating with enterprise architects to deliver reliable solutions globally.

Qualifications

• Have extensive experience in modern software engineering principles and practices.
• Have strong knowledge of architecture concepts and frameworks (e.g. TOGAF or similar).
• Have experience governing digital product architecture across teams or product areas.
• Have experience mentoring and leading engineers in complex technical environments.
• Be able to understand and navigate complex business and technology landscapes.
• Have experience driving technical and architectural priorities and implementations across teams.
• Take ownership of a defined technical or product area and proactively drive its evolution and outcomes.

This role is positioned in Core Business Range, Range Operations, Technology. You will belong to a domain within the Range Core area, reporting to the Software Engineering Area Manager or Software Engineering Manager. Range Core supports key flows in managing the range offer as well as the capabilities needed to create physical products and their core information. Our mission is to simplify and enable product and information creation and maintenance through software.

Our team is based in Malmö. We believe that working the majority of the time from the workplace is important.

About the role

As a Software Engineering Leader, you’ll play an important part in aligning engineering work across teams within a digital product area. You bring valuable IKEA and engineering experience into a setting where both hands-on software engineering and architectural governance are central to the role.

Your primary focus will be to support technical consistency, scalability and quality across products and platforms, in close collaboration with Software Engineering Managers, Technology Leaders, and Enterprise Architects. The impact of our work continues to resonate in homes and hearts across the world.

On a typical working day, you will:
