Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a Senior Tender Manager to shape bid strategies for large HVDC pursuits, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver compelling technical and commercial offerings.

The role is based in Sweden, with base in Ludvika or Västerås, and involves leading end-to-end tender processes across international projects. You will drive strategy, manage a multidisciplinary team, negotiate with customers, and ensure alignment of technical and commercial elements while upholding

Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale system sales and tendering, or in managing large projects.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Technical, or related field.
• HVDC or similar technologies knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong leadership and structured approach for guiding tender teams.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead Bid & Proposal team from pursuit stage to contract signing and execution handover.
• Interpret customer requirements and translate them into a competitive end-to-end solution based on Hitachi Energy’s portfolio.
• Shape and drive the overall tender strategy, aligning technical solutions, commercial positioning, pricing, risk and customer priorities.
• Enjoy working on complex tenders from both technical and commercial perspectives in an international environment.
• Lead customer interactions, clarifications and commercial negotiations, building strong relationships throughout the tender process.

As a Senior Tender Manager, you will shape and execute bid strategies for large, complex HVDC pursuits, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and shaping solutions that bring together capabilities from across the Hitachi Energy portfolio. From defining the bid strategy to presenting a compelling technical and commercial offering to the customer, you will play a central role in winning the projects that will shape the future power grid.

“At Bid & Proposals, we lead the tendering of large-scale HVDC greenfield projects worldwide. My team focuses on the Northern European (NEU) market and is based in Sweden and the UK. Last year alone, our department secured 5 HVDC projects across the NEU region, giving our team a direct role in shaping Hitachi Energy’s business pipeline. Your base will be in Ludvika or Västerås, Sweden, and you will be part of the HVDC product group within Hitachi Energy. HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 60 years and is used to transmit power over long distances with minimal losses, using overhead lines, underground and submarine cable systems.

Your background

• Experience in large-scale system sales and tendering, or in managing large projects.
• Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Business, Technical, or a related field.
• Technical and commercial experience with HVDC, or similar technologies, is an advantage.
• Strong leadership skills and a structured approach are important for guiding the tendering team through complex challenges.
• You are a strong communicator who works effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You are fluent in written and spoken English.
