Job summary

Kraken, Payward's security-forward team, seeks a security engineer to own security deliverables end to end—coordinating audits, conducting pentests across web, APIs, backends and on-chain components, and supporting CISO/compliance. You will review code touching auth, cryptography, custody, signing, and fund movement, while hardening IAM, secrets handling and supply-chain hygiene.

You will stay close to the codebase, contribute to product engineering in TypeScript, and assist with incident

Qualifications

Strong security fundamentals and system-level thinking.
Experience performing offensive security assessments and pentesting.
Knowledge of cryptography, key management, and blockchain security.
Ability to own items end-to-end from audit to closure.
Excellent communication with engineers, CISOs and auditors.

Responsibilities

Own security deliverables end to end, coordinate audits and responses.
Pentest web apps, APIs, backends and on-chain components; build repeatable tooling.
Threat-model systems; review architecture and key-management flows.
Review code for security relating to auth, cryptography, custody, signing, and fund movement.
Harden platform: secrets handling, IAM, least privilege, supply-chain hygiene, and logging.
Secure custody and signing workflows, MPC/HSM integrations and approval policies.
Contribute to product engineering with TS code; support incidents and post-mortems.
