Job summary

Sandvik Coromant seeks an accomplished Senior R&D Manager to lead the Materials and Technology Development organization in Sweden. You will translate customer needs into advanced cutting materials and scalable production technologies, leading a transformation toward a more customer-focused, digitally enhanced, and faster execution culture.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in materials science, engineering, metallurgy, physics, chemistry, or manufacturing technology.
• Experience taking technology from research to industrialization and production transfer.
• Fluency in English; Swedish is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead market- and technology-driven strategy for Materials and Technology Development, with sustainability embedded throughout.
• Turn research into qualified building blocks and scalable technology platforms for product development and production.
• Accelerate data-driven R&D through modelling, simulation, automation and modern experimental methods.
• Build strategic partnerships across Sandvik to unlock synergies, and with customers, suppliers, universities, and research institutes to capture insights, access talent, and accelerate value creation.
• Develop and maintain a strong intellectual property portfolio that protects competitive advantage.
• Build critical current and future capabilities and lead the organization through transformation.
• Lead site management and operations at the Västberga (Stockholm) site.
