Job summary

Alstom is seeking an experienced Project Engineering Manager - Generic Application Software in Stockholm, Sweden. You will lead a team delivering generic application software for trackside systems, from requirements analysis to customer acceptance, with end-to-end technical accountability for the solution.

You will manage quality, cost, delivery and performance, coordinate cross-functional interfaces, and drive improvements across the engineering lifecycle in a software-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Technical knowledge of railway signalling technologies such as interlocking, ATP, metro, CBTC and/or ERTMS is preferred.
• Experience delivering a complex project through its full software lifecycle.
• Ability to translate contractual requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong planning, prioritization, risk-management and reporting capabilities.
• Fluency in Swedish preferred; professional proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team delivering generic application software for trackside signalling systems.
• Own the complete engineering lifecycle from requirements analysis through design, implementation, integration, verification and customer acceptance.
• Ensure the software and technical solution meet customer requirements and project plans.
• Act as the technical voice of the customer within the project and decide on complex technical issues.
• Manage engineering quality, cost, delivery, performance, schedules and risks with clear monthly reporting.
• Drive integration across subsystems and coordinate system-level activities through final acceptance.
• Establish interfaces with Project Management, System Owners, Procurement, Operations, Sales and other engineering functions.
• Promote maintainability and improve engineering processes, tools and ways of working.
• Adapt engineering approaches for complex projects not suited to one-size-fits-all templates.
