Job summary

ALTEN Sweden is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join a long-term assignment focused on Databricks, cloud platforms, and modern data engineering. You will help build data platforms and pipelines enabling analytics, data science, and ML initiatives.

You will design, implement, and govern scalable data solutions, collaborating with engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders in a data-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Senior platform/ data engineering experience with Databricks and Spark.
• Hands-on Python and SQL development for ETL and data pipelines.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms, preferably AWS.
• Ability to design data governance, metadata, and catalog solutions.
• Knowledge of IaC and implementing robust, secure data platforms.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms and pipelines with Databricks.
• Improve platform architecture, setup, and capabilities for large-scale analytics.
• Build robust ETL/data pipelines for operational data at scale.

ALTEN Sweden is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer with strong expertise in Databricks, cloud platforms, and modern data engineering to join an exciting long-term assignment. You will be part of a highly skilled team developing and maintaining data platforms and pipelines that enable large-scale analytics, data science, and machine learning initiatives.

This role combines platform engineering, data engineering, cloud technologies, and data governance in a modern and data-driven environment.

About the role

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms and data pipelines with a strong focus on Databricks.
• Drive improvements to platform architecture, setup, and capabilities.
• Develop and maintain robust ETL and data pipelines for large-scale operational data.
• Design and implement data governance models, metadata management solutions, and data catalog capabilities.
• Ensure high standards for data quality, security, compliance, and data discoverability.
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for Databricks and cloud environments.
• Build automated, reliable, and reproducible platform environments.
• Collaborate with developers, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and business stakeholders.
• Translate technical and business requirements into scalable and production-ready data solutions.
• Contribute to the continuous development, operation, and maintenance of the data platform.

Who You Are

We are looking for someone with:

• Several years of experience as a Data Engineer, Platform Engineer, or a similar senior role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark.
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, preferably AWS.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining ETL and data pipelines.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar tools).
• Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, data quality, and data discoverability.
• Experience building scalable, robust, and secure data platform solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Meritorious

• AWS certifications.
• Databricks certifications.
• Experience with Unity Catalog and Delta Lake.
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
