For our client in the banking sector, we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help build and evolve a modern cloud-based data platform powered by Databricks and Microsoft Azure. The client is undergoing a major transformation from a traditional on‑premise SQL‑based data warehouse to a scalable, cloud‑native data ecosystem where Databricks serves as the core platform for data processing, analytics, and future AI initiatives.

This role is ideal for engineers who have extensive hands‑on experience working with Databricks in production environments and enjoy building robust, scalable data platforms from the ground up.

This is you

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering
• 3-5+ years of hands‑on Databricks experience in production environments
• Strong experience building and operating data pipelines in production environments
• Advanced knowledge of Python and SQL
• Experience with distributed data processing and large‑scale datasets
• Solid understanding of data engineering principles, including orchestration, performance optimization, and data quality
• Experience with dbt and modern data modeling practices
• Ability to independently drive technical initiatives and contribute to architectural decisions
• Professional proficiency in English

Nice‑to‑have skills:

• Experience with real‑time data processing
• Experience migrating legacy data warehouse environments to cloud platforms
• Understanding of CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and platform governance within data ecosystems

• Support the migration from legacy data warehouse solutions to a modern Databricks‑centric architecture
