Job summary

Kirby Group Engineering is delivering a large, technically complex data centre project in Sweden. As the Mechanical QC Lead, you will plan and coordinate quality activities, lead inspection programmes, oversee offsite fabrication quality and ensure mechanical installations meet the required standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering or NFQ Level 6/7 equivalent (overseas qualifications checked).
• Experience leading Mechanical QC or Mechanical Engineering activities on large construction projects.
• Solid knowledge of QA/QC processes, inspection requirements, and EU construction standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate mechanical quality control activities throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-construction through installation, testing and handover.
• Plan and oversee mechanical inspections in accordance with drawings, project specifications, quality plans and ITPs.
• Monitor mechanical installation activities to ensure compliance with approved standards, specifications and project requirements.
• Coordinate offsite manufacturing, fabrication and assembly quality inspections.
• Work closely with construction teams, subcontractors, inspectors and project management to maintain quality standards and programme requirements.
• Identify, document and manage non-conformances, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
• Review and maintain quality records, inspection reports and supporting documentation.
• Monitor inspection progress and communicate quality issues, risks and performance updates to project management.
• Support commissioning walkdowns, snagging activities, defect resolution and system handover.
• Promote a proactive quality culture, identifying potential issues before they affect project delivery.
