Job summary

Kirby Group Engineering is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function on a flagship data centre project in Sweden. You will own revenue, contracts and risk, collaborating with engineering, planning and finance to maximise value and protect contractual positions.

You will guide a commercial team through pre-construction to final account, ensuring governance, robust reporting and strong client relationships while driving continuous improvement and commercial

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Commercial role within construction, engineering, MEP or data centre environments.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, governance and risk management.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale, complex projects from pre-construction to completion.
• Excellent commercial negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience leading and developing commercial teams.
• Willingness to work on-site in Sweden.

Responsibilities

• Lead all commercial activities from tender to final account.
• Manage revenue, profitability, cash flow forecasting, and monthly reporting.
• Provide strategic commercial leadership to project teams.
• Negotiate and manage client contracts; identify risks.
• Lead commercial negotiations with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate commercial, contractual and financial risks.
• Oversee profit plans, forecasts and project performance.
• Support teams with contractual interpretation.
• Develop Quantity Surveyors and commercial staff.
• Ensure proper subcontract and purchase documentation.
• Drive resolution of commercial issues and final accounts.
• Audit processes to maximise project outcomes.
• Collaborate with engineering, planning, finance and operations.
• Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities.
• Lead lessons learned and promote best practice.
