Job summary

Hitachi Energy Sweden AB is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and optimize installation tools and testing equipment for HVDC projects. You will lead manufacturing process improvements and collaborate across R&D to enhance usability, reliability, and cost efficiency.

The role requires strong CAD skills (Siemens NX or similar), operations knowledge, and fluency in Swedish with professional English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Several years in a project engineering role within manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of machining, assembly, fabrication, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes, equipment, and layouts to improve safety and efficiency.
• Conduct time studies and value stream mapping to optimize workflow and resources.
• Create and maintain work instructions, SOPs, and control plans; train staff on new processes.
