Qualifications

• Good knowledge of ENOVIA/PLM systems.
• Experience designing and integrating BEV solutions.
• Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and good English communication.

• Create and maintain 3D models and concept-level drawings using CATIA V5.
• Develop technical solutions for cooling, braking, steering, and battery installations.

• Perform or support FEM calculations and design validation activities.

Mechanical Design Engineer – Advanced Vehicle Concept Development

About the Role

Hykmann Global Business Solutions AB is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join an assignment with one of Sweden's leading automotive engineering teams in Södertälje.

The assignment focuses on advanced engineering and concept vehicle development, where new technologies within electrification, hydrogen, and e-Mining are explored and developed for future vehicle platforms.

You will work in a fast-paced research and development environment, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams across R&D, Production, and other engineering stakeholders. The role requires a flexible and solution-oriented engineer who enjoys working with concept development and evolving technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to concept development and early-phase mechanical design for advanced vehicle platforms.
• Create and maintain 3D models and concept-level drawings using CATIA V5.
• Develop technical solutions for cooling systems, braking systems, steering systems, and battery installations.
• Support vehicle layout and packaging activities to ensure design feasibility.
• Collaborate with R&D, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders throughout the development process.
• Perform or support FEM calculations and design validation activities.
• Participate in technical reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering solutions.
• Deliver concept-level design solutions within project timelines while maintaining engineering quality.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in mechanical design or a related engineering field.
• Strong experience in concept development and early-stage product development within the automotive or heavy vehicle industry.
• Proven hands-on experience with CATIA V5 (3D) for mechanical design and assemblies.
• Good knowledge of ENOVIA or a similar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
• Experience in designing and integrating Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) solutions.
• Good understanding of vehicle layout, packaging, and system integration.
• Experience with cooling systems, braking systems, steering systems, or battery components is highly meritorious.
• Knowledge of Finite Element Method (FEM) for design validation is an advantage.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment with changing project requirements.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
