Job summary

WeQuel is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to concept development and early-phase engineering for advanced vehicles, including BEV concepts and cutting-edge technologies.

You will create Catia V5 models, support cooling, braking, steering and battery installations, perform FEM, and collaborate with R&D, Production and cross-functional teams in a hybrid Södertälje, Sweden setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience within mechanical design or a related field.
• Experience from concept development and early-phase engineering.
• Proven experience working with Catia V5 (3D).
• Good knowledge of Enovia or similar PLM systems.
• Experience in designing BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) solutions.
• Understanding of vehicle layout and system integration.
• Knowledge of FEM calculations for design validation.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements.
• Fluent in English.

Mechanical Design Engineer – Concept & Advanced Vehicles – Automotive Industry

WeQuel is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in concept development and early-phase engineering on behalf of one of our clients, a global leader in the automotive industry. This is an assignment where you will contribute to the development of advanced concept vehicles, working with cutting-edge technologies such as electrification, hydrogen, and e-Mining.

The role is fast-paced and requires the ability to deliver design work at a concept level within tight timelines, in an environment with a high degree of uncertainty and evolving requirements. You will collaborate closely with R&D, Production, and cross-functional stakeholders to create innovative technical solutions that are both feasible and aligned with project goals.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Concept Development

• Contribute to concept development and early-phase design of advanced vehicles
