Job summary

emagine is seeking a Senior Kafka Platform Engineer to own and develop the Kafka platform on Kubernetes in Stockholm. You will run multi-cluster Kafka environments, advise Java/Spring Boot teams, and manage HiveMQ brokers in a hybrid setup.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years of Kafka experience, strong Kubernetes know-how, and hands-on DevOps tooling with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Helm, and Terraform. This is a senior, hands-on role in a retail client environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of platform-level Kafka experience.
• Strong AKS/Kubernetes experience.
• Java and Spring Boot experience.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Helm, Terraform.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk.
• HiveMQ experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate, upgrade, and scale multi-cluster Kafka environments (Strimzi on AKS), including HA/DR
• Kafka security (ACLs, mTLS, SASL, OAuth), Connectors, and Schema Registry
• Monitoring, troubleshooting, and Tier 3 support
• Advise Java/Spring Boot teams on client configuration
• Administer HiveMQ MQTT brokers
