Job summary

Empiric in Gothenburg is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer specialising in Keycloak and IAM to design, build and operate secure identity capabilities within a modern Java microservices environment.

You will implement authentication flows, extend Keycloak with SPIs/providers, and work across Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift and CI/CD to keep production services resilient and secure.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer specialising in Keycloak and Identity & Access Management for a long-term engagement in Gothenburg.

This is a hands-on engineering position focused on designing, building and operating secure identity capabilities across a modern Java microservices environment.

What you’ll be doing

• Design, develop and operate IAM capabilities using Keycloak and Java
• Build and maintain production-grade Java microservices
• Extend and customise Keycloak using SPIs, providers, user federation and authentication flows
• Implement authentication and authorisation using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT and SAML
• Work across Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift and CI/CD environments
• Support production deployments, observability, troubleshooting and incident response
• Collaborate closely with security, platform and product teams
• Apply security best practices around tokens, sessions, authentication and authorisation

Required experience
