Job summary
LKAB Special Products is seeking a Senior Research Engineer to advance hydrometallurgical processes from lab to full industrial implementation at LKAB's new research centre in Luleå. You will lead development projects, collaborate with a team of experts, and guide junior engineers in experiments to optimize leaching, solvent extraction and precipitation steps.
You will be responsible for coordinating lab and pilot studies, liaising with suppliers, and contributing to full-scale process design.
Qualifications
- University degree in Chemical Engineering, Technical Chemistry, Process Engineering or Metallurgy; PhD considered an advantage.
- Experience in metallurgy/mineral processing; hydrometallurgy an advantage.
- Experience as supervisor or project lead in R&D.
- Strong English communication, written and spoken.
- Driver's license Swedish Class B.
Responsibilities
- Drive hydrometallurgical process development.
- Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale studies, including experiments, campaign planning and evaluation.
- Contribute to design of full-scale processes, including design criteria and technical support to the project team.
- Mentor or supervise junior engineers, supporting them in planning, executing, and evaluating experiments.
- Liaise with suppliers and external consultants.
