Job summary

Nordea Bank Abp is seeking Senior and Expert Data Scientists to design, build, and scale AI solutions in Operations. Join a Nordic bank driving Generative AI across large-scale processes and modernizing decision-making with secure, production-grade AI systems.

You will work with product owners, engineers, and business experts to deploy end-to-end AI initiatives, emphasizing Responsible AI, governance, and scalable architectures. The role offers flexible hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Data Science, ML, CS, Maths, Stats, Physics, Software Engineering, or related field; equivalent practical experience valued.
• 3+ years delivering production-grade AI/ML/ analytics solutions.
• Strong Python development and experience with modern AI/ML frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI applications using LLMs, RAG, agentic frameworks.
• Proven ability to take ideas from prototype to scalable production solutions.
• Experience with testing, evaluation, experimentation, and performance measurement of AI systems.
• Strong understanding of software engineering, DevOps, observability, CI/CD, production support.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and shape high-impact AI and Generative AI opportunities with business stakeholders.
• Prototype, build, deploy, and monitor production-grade AI applications.
• Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic AI, and LLM-powered solutions.
• Collaborate with product owners, engineers, architects, and business experts to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Drive experimentation, evaluation frameworks, and model quality assessments.
• Contribute to AI architecture, reusable frameworks, and engineering best practices.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, governance, and Responsible AI requirements.
• Support adoption of AI across Operations through coaching and technical leadership.
