Job summary

Infraspec is seeking a Senior Estimator for a major northern Sweden industrial project, focusing on green hydrogen integration with ironmaking and steelmaking on a single site.

The role requires extensive experience in capital projects, heavy industry and energy sectors with hands-on cost estimation, benchmarking, change estimates, and on-site collaboration to validate cost data in a large project environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with major infrastructure, industrial, energy, steel, or process environments.
• Experience preparing and reviewing detailed cost estimates.
• Strong understanding of quantity and rate build-ups.
• Experience benchmarking and contractor quotation review.
• Experience preparing and validating change estimates.
• Good knowledge of AACE estimate classifications.
• Sterling DCS experience would be an advantage.
• Ability to maintain a regular on-site presence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review cost estimates for large-scale projects.
• Build up quantity and rate databases for bids and tenders.
• Benchmark against industry standards and contractor quotations.
• Validate change estimates and ensure data integrity.
• Support on-site teams with robust estimating inputs.

Job description

Permanent or Contract - Northern Sweden

We require experienced Senior Estimators to assist a key consultancy client supporting a major industrial development in northern Sweden.

The project is a major development integrating green hydrogen production, ironmaking and steelmaking on a single site. We are looking for experienced estimators with a strong background in major capital projects, heavy industry, energy, process plants or similarly complex construction environments.

The key areas of focus will include preparing, reviewing and validating estimates, quantity and rate build-ups, benchmarking, contractor quotations and the assessment of change estimates.

The role will require someone comfortable working within a large project environment, providing robust estimating support and challenging and validating cost information where required.

Candidate requirements:

• Strong background in major infrastructure, industrial, energy, steel, metals or process environments.
• Experience preparing and reviewing detailed cost estimates.
• Strong understanding of quantity and rate build-ups.
• Experience with benchmarking and contractor quotation review.
• Experience preparing and validating change estimates.
• Good knowledge of AACE estimate classifications.
• Sterling DCS experience would be an advantage.
• Ability to maintain a regular on-site presence.
