Job summary

Fortum is seeking a senior specialist based in Solna, Sweden, to lead environmental permitting and environmental impact assessment activities for new nuclear development and other low-carbon projects. The role sits within the Radiation Safety and Environment team, collaborating closely with Swedish stakeholders and authorities.

You will review complex environmental studies, provide expert advice, and ensure regulatory requirements are integrated throughout project development.

Qualifications

• Senior specialist with experience in environmental permitting and EIA processes.
• Strong understanding of environmental issues in major energy projects (cooling water, aquatic environments, biodiversity).
• Experience with Swedish authorities and knowledge of Swedish environmental legislation/regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental permitting and EIA activities for nuclear and low-carbon projects.
• Provide expert input to environmental studies and assessments, review related documentation and deliverables.
• Engage with authorities and external stakeholders to ensure environmental requirements are addressed during project development.
• Potentially expand to broader assignments across Nuclear Business over time.
