McLaughlin Young is seeking an experienced Risk Underwriter to serve as the primary gatekeeper for merchant onboarding and risk assessment. You will analyze acquiring and card merchant applications, ensuring compliance with KYC/CDD and card schemes rules.

Responsibilities include reviewing applications, managing the underwriting pipeline, and delivering reports to management while staying ahead of fraud trends. Hybrid work model available in Sweden.

Formación

• 3–5 years of hands-on underwriting experience in FinTech/Payments.
• Strong knowledge of KYC requirements, card schemes, and CDD.
• Ability to read and evaluate complex financial statements.

Responsabilidades

• Review merchant applications promptly and manage underwriting queue.
• Analyze risk per company policy to mitigate fraud exposure.
• interpret KYC, CDD, and card scheme rules for onboarding.
• Read consumer credit reports and processing statements for risk.
• Produce underwriting reports and KPIs for management.
• Train new hires and support underwriting best practices.
• Monitor emerging fraud trends and collaborate with Risk.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.
