Job summary

Valmet in Karlstad is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to shape tissue machine design. You will create detailed drawings and technical documentation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored mechanical solutions from concept to delivery.

You hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering and bring experience in mechanical product development, with strong English communication. Some travel and industry experience in paper or tissue is a plus as you support end-to-end projects at

Qualifications

Hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in mechanical product development and design engineering.
Communicate confidently in written and spoken English.
Experience from the paper, tissue, or process industry is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

Create detailed drawings and technical documentation supporting purchasing, manufacturing, and assembly of tissue machines.
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, production teams, and pre-assembly functions to deliver high-quality customer solutions.
Contribute to the ongoing development, maintenance, and improvement of products, machine sections, and components.
Translate customer requirements into practical and effective mechanical design solutions.
Support customer projects from design through delivery and occasionally travel when required.
