Job summary

UMATR is seeking a Senior Databricks Platform Engineer to design and scale the Databricks Lakehouse platform. You will build and manage Databricks workspaces, environments, and CI/CD pipelines to support data workloads across multiple teams.

The role requires hands-on experience with Databricks, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure on Azure/AWS/GCP, plus strong Python/SQL skills and governance knowledge. This is a 6-month initial contract with potential extensions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with Databricks.
• Experience building or managing Databricks platforms at scale.
• Strong knowledge of Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Excellent understanding of cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of Unity Catalog, security and governance.
• Strong Python and/or SQL skills.
• Experience supporting multiple engineering teams.
• Comfortable working as a senior individual contributor.

We're partnered with a global organisation investing heavily in its modern data platform and are looking for a Senior Databricks Platform Engineer to help build and scale its Lakehouse environment.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of Databricks, cloud infrastructure and data engineering.

You'll be responsible for improving the platform that enables hundreds of engineers, analysts and data scientists to build and deploy data workloads at scale.

This is a 6-month initial contract.
