Job summary

UMATR is seeking a Senior Databricks Platform Engineer to design and scale the Databricks Lakehouse platform. You will build and manage Databricks workspaces, environments, and CI/CD pipelines to support data workloads across multiple teams.

The role requires hands-on experience with Databricks, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure on Azure/AWS/GCP, plus strong Python/SQL skills and governance knowledge. This is a 6-month initial contract with potential extensions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with Databricks.
• Experience building or managing Databricks platforms at scale.
• Strong knowledge of Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Excellent understanding of cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of Unity Catalog, security and governance.
• Strong Python and/or SQL skills.
• Experience supporting multiple engineering teams.
• Comfortable working as a senior individual contributor.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the Databricks Lakehouse platform.
• Build and manage Databricks workspaces and environments.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines for Databricks workloads.
• Implement platform governance, security and access controls.
• Work with Unity Catalog and data governance frameworks.
• Improve cluster configuration, reliability and performance.
• Establish engineering standards and best practices across Databricks.
