Job summary

Sinch is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to own our data platform, spanning real-time APIs and batch pipelines across Google Cloud with multi-cloud support on AWS/Azure. You will lead design, implementation, and reliability of data flows, ensuring correctness and performance for customer analytics.

You will drive architectural decisions, mentor junior engineers, and set high standards for code quality, observability, and operations in a hybrid Stockholm, Sweden environment.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience as a software or data engineer (typically 6+ years).
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: clean/modular design, testing, API design, distributed systems trade-offs.
• Experience building/operating backend services in Go/Java/Kotlin/Rust.
• Hands-on experience with modern data stack: BigQuery, Airflow, dbt or equivalents.
• Infrastructure as code experience with Terraform; knowledge of major cloud providers.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve real-time and batch data layers using a lambda-like architecture.
• Design, build and operate customer-facing backend services with strong contracts and versioning.
• Manage multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP using Terraform.
• Raise engineering quality through standards, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical design discussions.
