Job summary

emagine is seeking a Data Engineer to redesign and rebuild the deletions and takeout request workflow on Snowflake. You will work with Python, Airflow, and AWS to implement data handling requirements and build metadata/cataloguing integrations for internal data sources.

The role offers remote work within Sweden with the possibility to visit the office a few times. This is a short-term project starting September/October 2026 and ending December 2026, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Strong Python development experience.
• Hands-on Airflow experience.
• Experience with AWS and data engineering pipelines.
• Snowflake experience preferred; familiarity with data subject request workflows is a plus.

About the project

• Implement the workflow to match data handling requirements that are already defined and agreed upon
• Build additional metadata/cataloguing integrations for data sources
• Work independently with minimal ramp-up support, as the core team is fully committed to other priorities during this period

The primary focus and responsibilities for the data engineer

We run a set of shared data infrastructure services on Snowflake, including tooling for GDPR deletion and takeout requests and metadata/cataloguing integrations for internal data sources. Some of the tasks would be:

• Redesign and rebuild the deletions and takeout request workflow, a common service used by teams to process data subject requests against Snowflake
• Implement the workflow to match data handling requirements that are already defined and agreed upon
• Build additional metadata/cataloguing integrations for data sources
• Work independently with minimal ramp-up support, as the core team is fully committed to other priorities during this period

Must-have skills

strong Python, hands-on experience with Airflow, experience with AWS and solid data engineering pipeline experience (Snowflake experience preferred). The candidate should be comfortable working independently in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment with legacy systems and evolving requirements.

End date: December 2026

Location: Remote within Sweden is OK as long as you can visit the office a couple of times.
