Job summary

Resurs is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and scaling of a modern data platform in a Nordic banking context. You’ll shape data foundations powering decisions across the business, collaborating with data scientists, analysts, product teams, and stakeholders.

You will work with cutting-edge AWS services to build secure, scalable data solutions while aligning with banking regulations. Hybrid work within Sweden with occasional HQ visits in Helsingborg is offered.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering scalable data solutions in cloud environments.
• Strong expertise with AWS data services (S3, Athena, ECS) and related tools.
• Advanced SQL and data warehouse architecture experience; dbt proficiency.
• Hands-on IaC experience (Terraform, CDK) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong Python skills for data processing and pipeline development.
• Experience with data governance, security, and regulated industries.

You'll be essential in creating the data foundation that powers decision-making across our business and drives innovation in Nordic financial services.

We offer a hybrid remote work solution within Sweden, with occasional visits to our HQ in Helsingborg.

As a Senior Data Engineer at Resurs, you'll be at the forefront of our cloud transformation, working with cutting-edge AWS technologies to build scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions. You'll collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, product teams, and business stakeholders to transform how we leverage data to create value for our customers and drive business growth.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Design, build, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines and architectures using modern AWS services and cloud-native technologies


• Build and implement scalable unified data platform solutions that support advanced analytics and data-driven decision making


• Ensure data quality, governance, and security across all data flows, adhering to banking regulations and compliance requirements


• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust, scalable data products


• Drive best practices for DataOps, monitoring, and automated data pipeline orchestration


• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the evolution of our data engineering standards and practices


• Lead technical decision-making for data architecture and tooling within assigned projects

Essential experience:

• A proven track record of delivering scalable data solutions in cloud environments


• Strong expertise with AWS data services (ECS, S3, Athena, and related services)


• Advanced SQL skills and experience with modern data warehouse architectures, optimization techniques, and transformation tools like dbt


• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CDK, or similar) and CI/CD pipelines


• Strong Python skills for data processing and pipeline development


• Experience with data orchestration tools (Dagster, Airflow, or similar)


• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in regulated industries

Nice to have:

• Experience in banking, fintech, or other regulated financial industries


• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and serverless architectures


• Background in agile development methodologies and DataOps practices
