  • Assist with server deployments, rack-and-stack, cabling, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
  • Support Windows Server environments and other datacentre technologies.
  • Share knowledge with colleagues and ensure compliance with security policies.

Job description

As a Senior Data Center IT Support Technician, you will provide technical support for Secure Access Workstations (SAWs), laptops, servers, and audio/visual equipment used across Microsoft datacentres. You will help ensure devices remain secure, compliant, and fully operational while maintaining inventory, managing device lifecycles, and supporting users across multiple sites.

In this role, you will work closely with datacentre teams and corporate stakeholders to resolve IT issues, onboard new employees, manage hardware deployments and replacements, and support critical infrastructure. You will also contribute to datacentre operations by assisting with server, network, and hardware troubleshooting when needed.

Travel between sites may be required, therefore a valid driver's licence is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Build strong working relationships with datacentre personnel, corporate teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Provide day-to-day IT support for Secure Access Workstations (SAWs), laptops, servers, mobile devices, and conference room audio/visual systems.
  • Support new employee onboarding by provisioning, configuring, and troubleshooting laptops, phones, and related equipment.
  • Manage device repairs, replacements, warranty claims, and Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) processes while ensuring compliance with Microsoft security standards.
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment, including ordering, receiving, assigning, redeploying, and decommissioning assets.
  • Perform hardware troubleshooting, component replacement, media handling, and power-cycle activities when required.
  • Assist with server deployments, rack-and-stack activities, cabling, hardware installations, testing, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
  • Support Windows Server environments, network devices, storage systems, and other datacentre technologies.
  • Assist Inventory and Asset Management teams with shipping, receiving, and inventory activities during periods of high demand.
  • Share knowledge and provide technical guidance to colleagues across the datacentre environment.
  • Maintain compliance with Microsoft security, safety, and operational standards.
  • Embody Microsoft's culture and values in all aspects of work.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting IT equipment, technical infrastructure, or related technology environments.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between sites as required.
Security Requirements

Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including:

  • Successful completion of the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical college degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Mathematics, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as Microsoft, CompTIA, networking, or infrastructure certifications.
  • Experience supporting servers, operating systems, networking technologies, and enterprise hardware.
  • Valid licence to operate standard street-legal vehicles within the local jurisdiction.
