Job summary

Lyten Sweden is actively seeking a Senior Cell Design Engineer to lead mechanical design and development of next‑generation Li‑ion and Li‑S cells. You will own critical design decisions and collaborate across teams to deliver high‑performance energy storage solutions for EVs and advanced applications.

Ideal candidates will have 8+ years of mechanical design experience in battery related fields, strong CAD skills (NX/CATIA), and proven ability to communicate with customers and cross‑functional

Qualifications

• BSc, MSc, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in power electronics or batteries.
• Strong experience in lithium‑ion battery cell development and related processes.
• Proven hands‑on experience in mechanical component design, evaluation, and validation.
• Extensive experience with CAD tools such as NX or CATIA.
• Experience with electrode/cell design and performance evaluation is strongly preferred.
• Strong risk management in cell/battery development environments.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development for Li‑ion and Li‑S battery cells and related components for ESS and EVs.
• Own mechanical part design, evaluation, validation, and optimization with advanced CAD tools.
• Interface with customers, leading technical discussions and clarifying design requirements.
• Collaborate across Supply Chain, Process Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing and Quality teams.
• Identify risks in cell development and drive mitigation strategies.
• Review and approve drawings, 3D models, tolerances and documentation.
• Support prototype development, design verification and validation activities.
• Contribute to design standard improvements and best practices.
