Job summary

Deploja is seeking a seasoned back-end engineer to join our consulting practice in Malmö. You will work on customer-facing web services, focusing on Java, concurrency, and distributed systems to deliver reliable software for our clients.

Qualifications include 5+ years of production experience, deep Java knowledge, and experience with Netty, Cassandra/Redis, and CI/CD workflows. Fluency in English is required; Swedish not necessary.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Deep knowledge of Java, memory model, GC and concurrency.
• Experience with java.util.concurrent, virtual threads, and reactive models.
• Proven experience building and scaling customer-facing web services.
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, availability, reliability and performance tuning.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, partitioning and failure modes.
• Experience with Cassandra, Redis, memcached or similar data stores.
• Experience building REST-based services using Netty or similar frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling and automated testing.
• Fluent English communication.
