Job summary

Q Innovations Sweden AB is seeking a driven NLP/IR specialist to build end-to-end semantic search and retrieval systems in a fast-growing startup. The role focuses on turning complex user queries into precise results via advanced language models and retrieval architectures.

You will work in a zero-to-one environment, translating ideas into working systems while collaborating across teams in Stockholm, Sweden, and beyond. Fluency in English is required; Swedish language skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• MSc in NLP, Information Retrieval, Computational Linguistics, or Computer Science is required.
• Production experience building semantic search or information retrieval systems that users rely on.
• Architectural understanding of transformer models beyond API use, from first principles.
• Proficiency across the Hugging Face ecosystem, including fine-tuning and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Build query understanding pipelines: intent classification, NER, semantic parsing, and contextual expansion across multilingual distributions.
• Design and build dense retrieval infrastructure with bi-encoder and cross-encoder architectures for deep semantic understanding.
