Job summary

Backlight is seeking a Senior AI Engineer, Multimodal Systems in Stockholm to architect and deploy AI features across video content. You will integrate computer vision, speech processing, and NLP to deliver low-latency products used in production pipelines.

You will lead model development from research to deployment, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance multimodal capabilities in a fast-growing media tech environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in CS/AI or related quantitative field.
• 3+ years hands-on experience developing and deploying production AI/ML systems.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and web frameworks (Flask, FastAPI).
• Deep learning architectures such as Transformers, CNNs and RNNs.
• Strong NLP, embeddings, and vector search fundamentals.
• Experience deploying ML models in AWS, GCP, or Azure.

As our Senior AI Engineer, Multimodal Systems, you will architect and build the next generation of AI-powered features by integrating computer vision, speech processing, and natural language understanding. You’ll transform raw data into intelligent, low-latency systems that define the future of video content.

• Develop industry-leading ASR and TTS systems.

Requirements

• Expertise in Python, including ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and web frameworks (Flask, FastAPI).
• Deep understanding of deep learning architectures (Transformers, CNNs, RNNs).
• Solid grasp of NLP concepts, embedding techniques, and vector search.
• Proven experience deploying ML models in major cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Bonus points

• Experience with LLM tools, vector databases, signal processing, MLOps, or distributed computing.
