Qualifications

• Senior/Staff level engineering experience at product companies.

• Comfortable with working in a Go/Python codebase and cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable).

tl;dr You are curious, smart and great at what you do. You have worked on great products as a senior engineer. You are looking to work from an office in central Stockholm where you get to build on a fantastic product, continue to grow as an engineer and re-shape how finance & accounting is done.

The opportunity

Mimo was founded early 2023 because small businesses spend too much time and money on payments and financing. In 2024 we launched our end-to-end payments platform that put payments and financing on autopilot, enabling businesses to save hours per week and thousands in unnecessary fees.

Backed by leading institutional investors, Mimo is now hiring AI engineers to join a team working on automating tasks for finance professionals and accountants.

The role

You will, together with an experienced engineering team, design and build the core technology for automating mechanical work for finance professionals by leveraging data and latest advancements in AI technology

What you will do

• Design and implement LLM-powered workflows to automate finance and accounting tasks like detecting anomalies in books, scanning and categorising financial documents like invoices and credit notes.
• Build benchmark/eval suites to systematically develop a system of agents to conduct accounting tasks.
• Own user feedback loops and store data in a structured manner for LLM consumption.
• Shape and evolve our AI stack, continuously researching and implementing the best solutions for our use cases.
• Collaborate with other engineers, product and design teams to deliver seamless consumer grade experiences to customers.
• Contribute across the stack to get the work done, when needed. Our tech stack is Go, Typescript, Python, Postgres and GCP.

Technical skills

• Senior/Staff level engineering experience at product companies.
• Practical understanding of vector stores, RAG, context engineering and other techniques used in building AI agents.
• Strong grasp of machine learning concepts, LLMs, libraries, or frameworks commonly used in AI agent development.
• Understanding of how to evaluating performance and outputs of AI systems.
• Comfortable with working in a Go/Python codebase and cloud infrastructure (We use GCP but welcome experience in AWS/Azure)

Soft skills

• Ability to prioritise shipping before perfecting - At Mimo, we prioritise ruthlessly and have a bias for shipping and collecting feedback early.
• Ability to collaborate with product and design to deliver seamless AI experiences.
• Strong sense of ownership

Bonus if you have also…

• Familiarity with Temporal or other background workflow orchestrators.
• Comfortable working with financial/accounting data - or excitement to learn this domain quickly.
• Have contributed to open-source software, have side projects or just genuinely exhibit curiosity in technology.
