The Role

We're looking for a senior RF & Microwave Engineer who thrives at the intersection of theory and hardware — someone who is as comfortable with a vector network analyzer as they are in a design review.

This is a hands‑on, high‑ownership role. You'll be part of a tight‑knit engineering team designing and developing RF and microwave subsystems that end up in real SATCOM terminals, shipped to customers around the world. Your work starts at the component level and extends all the way to system integration and verification.

Please note: This position involves work within the EU defense sector. The role may require security clearance in accordance with applicable EU and Swedish defense regulations. Candidates must be eligible to obtain such clearance.

What You'll Work On

• Design and development of RF and microwave circuits and subsystems — including LNAs, PAs, mixers, filters, diplexers, and frequency conversion chains
• RF system-level analysis: link budgets, noise figure, gain cascades, spurious and intermodulation analysis
• Antenna system design and characterization for ESA and reflector-based terminals
• RF PCB design and layout in close collaboration with the electronics team (Altium Designer or equivalent)
• Hands-on hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, and RF measurement campaigns
• Supporting integration and verification of complete SATCOM terminal systems
• Contributing to design documentation, test procedures, and technical reviews

Who You Are

You have deep RF/microwave expertise built over more than a decade of real engineering work — not just simulations. You take ownership of problems, communicate clearly across disciplines, and understand that a great design is one that survives manufacturing, qualification, and the field.

You bring:

• A university degree (MSc / PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field
• 10+ years of experience in RF/microwave engineering, ideally within satellite communications, defense, or related industries
• Proven ability to design and characterize RF circuits and subsystems from concept through production
• Proficiency in RF simulation tools (ADS, HFSS, CST, or equivalent)
• Experience with RF PCB design; familiarity with Altium Designer is a plus
• Strong command of RF test equipment — VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators — and the ability to interpret and act on what you measure
• Experience in system design, integration, and troubleshooting of complex RF systems
• Fluent in both Swedish and English, written and spoken
